The Black Map #271: Confessions Of A Traitor from London! (Reading Rising IV Edition)

The biggest Party in Reading this side of the summer is Reading Rising Festival which will reach its fourth incarnation on 18th November. The place to be is The Facebar, which will see zero clashes between no less than twelve bands on two separate stages for one day of fun filled frolics… with the exception of a little friendly banter and some sibling rivalry. Here’s the line up and the stage splits in full…

Red Room

Our Hollow Our Home (headliner)
Veridian
InAir
Crushed By Waves
Our Fate
NervEndings

Blue Room

Confessions Of A Traitor (headliner)
Waterlines
Weller
The Freudian Session
Adharma
Elucidate

And if you’re hungry for more then there is also an after party DJ set from Our Fate guitarist Finn Panhaleux until 2am!

…and so to the main event. Who the f*** are Confessions Of A Traitor and why should you part with your hard earned shiny coin to witness them headline the ice cold blue room stage when you could be dancing around Reading town centre in the rain, doing some Christmas shopping and generally looking like a drowned rat?

Unless you have been living under a rock, you should know that the London Metalcore merchants have been pedaling their burnt offerings to listeners from all across the globe since the beginning of time. Known for their high grade incendiary live show, they have been favourites at Take Down Festival and Tech-Fest while going off road DIY across not only Europe but North America. 2017 EP “Illuminate” saw release through Sliptrick Records before being blown out of the water by 2019 debut album “Guided” and the band plotter their course to World Domination one breakdown at a time. 2020 saw the release of a cover of “Papercut” by Linkin Park that became a huge live sing-a-long before taking pride of place on 2021 EP “Press Start To Play“. Never afraid to take a risk the outfit keep training hard for their MMA bouts, inking a deal with Facedown Records for 2022 album “Punishing Myself Before God Does“. So here’s hoping for a career spanning set to get blood, sweat and beers spilled in the mosh pit on 18th November. They deserve it and so do you!
