35 years on, like Stonehenge, the Roman Colosseum or Pyramids of ancient Egypt, “Beneath The Remains” is a Death Thrash masterclass from Sepultura that has stood the test of time. Recorded in just 13 days at Nas Nuvens Studio, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in December 1988 with producer Scott Burns (Death, Obituary, Deicide) at the helm, the band used Mesa Boogie Amps for the first time and tightened up every bolt that has been loose with their previous album “Schizophrenia“. Critically acclaimed and compared with 1986’s “Reign In Blood” by Slayer, the album took the band to Europe and North America with Sodom, King Diamond and Napalm Death.
