Rabidfest 2025: Breaking Down The Bands #10: Thrashatouille!
If you went to Bloodstock Open Air Festival this past weekend you will have seen sandwiched between posters for Parkway Drive and Volbeat tours a GIANT Rabidfest poster. We’re talking twice as high as a couple of dudes from Two Face Promotions. You couldn’t miss it and having it there for the second year running with the Metal Noise dot Net logo on the bottom is a thing of beauty. We digress. We’re here to remind you that Rabidfest will be taking place over the weekend of 1st and 2nd November at The Bullingdon in the heart of Oxford with no less than twenty bands taking to the Devolution Magazine sponsored main stage to perform their songs. It’s all in a good cause too with money once again being raised for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. Who’s play? Keep reading!

The story goes that in the winter of 2017 no less than two budding new chefs were in a development kitchen. Together they were working on a dish, the original idea for which had been scribbled on the back of a napkin in a country pub somewhere. The concept was simple enough, however as we all know, the devil is in the detail and eventually, after several attempts, they found the answer after hiring a pair of new recruits. Back then you see “Pizza” by Attila wasn’t even a twinkle in the eye, At The Plates culinary inspired Death Metal didn’t exist and as for Mac Sabbath… the less said about that the better! No, their not so secret recipe was for Thrashatouille, a food themed Thrash band like nothing else the world had ever seen!
Their recipe was simple, a single six string guitar, a single four string bass, three microphones and a traditional drum kit was all it took to get them on the road. Three EPs were quickly baked in 2021’s “Rise of the Bludgeonaise“, 2022’s “UK Chef Metal” and 2024’s “The Mighty Meat“, each one introducing bold new flavour profiles and soon enough Chis Hargreaves, Rob Sutton, James Gerber and Daniel Brown had earned their place at cooking demonstrations up and down the United Kingdom. Sharing stages with the likes of Continents, Green Jelly and of course Bloodstock survivors Surya while making sure that everyone is well fed is no mean feat, so it’s no wonder that they’re partial to a little something from Greggs.
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Moshville Times, Moshville Radio, Metalplanetmusic, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
