NEWS: Anubis announce new album “Anthromorphicide”!

Back in 2019 when singer Devin Reiche decided to broaden his horizons from simply playing bass in Hatchet and to relish in creating traditional metal inspired by his influences and to use his voice there was no way he could have foreseen Anubis becoming the monster it is today. After several EPs the band signed with M-Theory Audio for their debut album “Dark Paradise” in 2024, sharing stages with the likes of Warbringer, Lutharo and Aether Realm along the way. Now on the crest of a wave, the current line up finds Reiche joined by bassist Will Buckley, Ulises Hernandez (Novareign, Judicator) on guitar, David Velez (Witherfall) on drums, vocalist Hanna Preston, and the returning Justin Escamilla (Tower Guard) on guitar. Together they have written a new album in “Anthromorphicide” which has a 24th April release date on its toe tag and “Arcanist” as the first single. Per-orders are available over at bandcamp

Bassist Will Buckley comments: “’Arcanist’ is basically my love letter to the Colony/Clayman-era of In Flames, and their particular breed of melodic death metal in a nutshell

Vocalist Devin Reiche adds: “‘Anthromorphide’ translates to the death of the human form, a word meaning the transformation, evolution or the shedding of one’s form and the embracing of another. We’ve chosen this as the name of our second album as it is a perfect snapshot of a band evolving in real time. We’ve had a lot of members, and a lot of different artistic goals in the past year and a half and all of them have left a mark on this album in one way or another. Not least of which, of course, is the decision to bring aboard a new second vocalist with 85% of the album already in the can. You’re going to hear a lot of different styles and guest performances, some of which will come as a complete surprise to a lot of people no matter how close you’ve been following us. One thing that has remained completely unchanged, since the first days of this band is our genuine passion for combining melody and heaviness in new and unique ways.
