NEWS: Obscure Fate drink poison…
As it took thirteen years for Finnish Melodic Death Metal act Obscure Fate to finally give us their debut EP “Raven’s Call” in 2021 it should come as no surprise that we’ve had to wait another five years for a debut album. The wait will come to an end on 27th March when Inverse Records assure us they will be handing over “Shades of a Dying World” in its entirety. The second single is “Poison Throne” with pre-orders available over at bandcamp.
The band comments:”“Poison Throne” represents corrupt authority that poisoned what it was supposed to protect. The song refers directly to the Inquisition, historical events in which innocent people were executed on religious grounds. Religion was used as a tool of power, not salvation. The song “Poison Throne” urges us to remember the injustices of the past and expands the theme from the individual to the collective trauma of an entire nation.“
