NEWS: Cognizance premier “A Game of Proliferation”!
After the masterclass that is 2024’s “Phantazein” the departure of vocalist Henry “Big Mac” Pryce has meant that Leeds Progressive Death Metallers Cognizance have had to make their first like up change in a decade. Rather than introduce a new member the band have chosen to continue as a four piece with founding guitarist Alex Baillie stepping forward to take in vocals while retaining his status as a riff lord.
Mixed and Mastered by Ronnie Björnström (Aeon, Blood Red Throne) and wrapped in artwork by Jef Whitehead (Nails, Leviathan) the band’s first album in their new form is “In Light, No Shape“, a 1st May release via Willowtip Records. The second single is “A Game of Proliferation” with pre-orders available over at bandcamp
Vocalist and guitarist Alex Baillie: “This record is a defining milestone for us. Taking on vocals has pushed us to re-engineer how we experiment with the blend of elements in our sound, unlocking new creative pathways to compliment the core identity of the band. What you will hear are four dudes all adding their flavours to the melting pot to create a body of work that felt completely natural to us.”
