NEWS: Opposition Party plotting 40th anniversary!

Celebrating four decades of destruction this year, Singapore Hardcore Punks Opposition Party are preparing a career spanning compilation tracing their journey from humble beginnings in 1986. That was the year that guitarist and vocalist Francis Frightful started the band with a raw hardcore punk sound driven by frustration, a strong DIY ethic and a refusal to conform. Between then and now the ethos has remained but the sound has evolved, reaching Crossover Thrash and Metal territories. In addition to the compilation the band are planning some special shows and may even have another comic book up their sleeves…

Francis Frightful comments: “Punk and metal were never just styles of music to me. They became part of who I am. I’m grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years. This anniversary belongs to every friend, supporter, promoter, and band that helped keep the underground alive. As long as I can still make noise and have something to say, I’ll keep doing what I’ve always done”
