Rabidfest 2026: Breaking Down The Bands #3: Devilhusk!

While in the United Kingdom at least the summer remains hotter than hell, that means that all things Rabidfest can begin to defrost. A Metal Weekender like no other, it will take place once more at its spiritual home of The Bullingdon in the heart of Oxford over the weekend of Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November 2026. A total of twenty bands will be performing, commanding you raise a poison chalice, get in the mosh pit or give a vocalist a high five from the Devolution Magazine sponsored main stage. So what are you waiting for? It’s all in a good cause too as all profits are going to The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!

A warm up show dubbed “28 Days Prior” will take place at The Jericho Tavern in Oxford on 3rd October and the line up for that looks like this:

Having read the headline, in time honoured fashion we hear you ask “Who the f*** are Devikhusk and why are they worth the admittance fee?”

When it comes to Devilhusk we consider “Gutcheck“, “I See God” and personal favourite “Irukandji” all essential pre-Rabidfest listening because when the band play those cuts live, it’s going to set the pit off like they dropped a hand grenade into it. At the time of writing the quartet have more listeners in Australia and North America than they do the place they call home but band embrace that, sharing stages with heavy hitters like Seething Akira, Pintglass and Burner as they continue to grow their fan base. Their live shows are known to be a high octane experience of pure catharsis as they vent on themes of disillusionment with ideals and religion, self-doubt and anxiety seeking escapism through their art. As a band they push the boundaries within Nu-Metalcore, reaching into the void and touching Deathcore when they’re at their heaviest, 2025 EP “Sleep Like The Dead” and this summers follow up EP “Goretech: Intimidator” connecting with jaws like the steel fist of RoboCop.
