Rabidfest 2026: Breaking Down The Bands #9: OmegaThrone!
As the summer comes to an end and the nights draw in, it’s time to think about Halloween. Pumpkin spiced latte, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Wednesday 13 aren’t the only things that will put an evil grin on our faces this year as Oxford’s finest Metal Weekender Rabidfest will be taking place upon that very weekend. Seeking safe haven in The Bullingdon on Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November may save you from the trick or treating but like the Titty Twister in From Dusk Till Dawn their maybe other dangers lurking within. Who knows which of the twenty bands performing that weekend will take it upon themselves to perform an occult ritual and summon demons from the netherworld via a circle pit?
A warm up show dubbed “28 Days Prior” will take place at The Jericho Tavern in Oxford on 3rd October and the line up for that looks like this:
Anti-Clone (headliner)
Chaplain
Blackmarket
Away With The Seas
Rabidfest itself will take place at The Bullingdon in Oxford over the weekend of the 31st October and 1st November 2026, here’s the line up in full:

n0trixx (Sunday headliner)
Vampyra
Maatkare
Swarm6ix
Black Candy
Devilhusk
The Dead XIII
The Crawling
Novacrow
Dacara
Rattlesnakes
OmegaThrone
Spared An Endless Orbit
Necronomicunt
The Blade Itself

Uniting former members of Atanamir, Innovation Threat, InRetrospect and Aftermath to name but a few OmegaThrone are a Blackened Melodic Death Metal force hailing from the city of Liverpool. Founding members in drummer Piotr Furieux and guitarist Marcin Lachovsky began the journey with an original line up in 2017, announcing themselves to an unsuspecting world with debut album “In Loving Memory of Humankind” in 2020 after three years of dedication to craft. 2021 saw a line up change with bassist Charlotte Rogers and vocalist J.J. Moffat joining the equation and after two splits and two EPs together in January they unveiled their sophomore album “Predators Make Empires“.
The darkness of their soundscapes are only surpassed by the bleakness of their lyrical narratives, themes of Omnicide or at least the downfall of humanity by its own hand running through the veins of their sonic creations. You might call them a pessimistic bunch but what they’re talking about should give you pause for thought when the headbanging, mosh pits and drinking is over. As a quartet OmegaThrone have been able to go toe to toe with the likes of Deathfiend, From Eden To Exile and The Crawling earning a reputation with fierce live performances all along the way so expect sparks to fly at Rabidfest!
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Chaos Under No Ties, Moshville Radio, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
