Rabidfest 2024: 3rd Wave of Bands announced!

As the evenings begin to get lighter and the daffodils are in full bloom, Oxford’s biggest Metal Weekender Rabidfest have announced another four bands including their Sunday Headliner for the sixth incarnation of the annual pilgrimage. Mecca for the event is The Bullingdon over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd November, where no less than 20 bands will be taking to the Devolution Magazine sponsored main stage. Here’s the line up so far in full…

Evile (Saturday Headliner)
Viscera (Sunday Headliner)
Cloven Hoof
Fury
Recall The Remains
Voidwalker
From Her Ashes
Imperium
Eschalon
Draconian Reign
Existentialist
Damaged Reich
As The World Dies
Rats Eat Rats

Fresh from a European tour with Cabal and Vexed, Unique Leader Records Death Metal supergroup Viscera are hungry for more shows around last year’s sophomore album “Carcinogenesis“. That took them to Bloodstock last summer as the former members of Sylosis, Heart Of A Coward, Nervecell and Martyr Defiled created something greater than the sum of their parts…

Talking of Bloodstock, Oxford Thrash Metal outfit Damaged Reich played the event back in 2018 with material from 2019 album “Death Becomes Us All“. They’ve spent the past 14 months or so writing and recording a sophomore album with no less than 7 tracks said to be nailed. Since that news broke they’ve been announcing shows so we look forward to witnessing something fresh from them in November…

2022 saw Transcending Obscurity Records distribute debut album “Agonist” from Birmingham Progressive Death Metal outfit As The World Dies, a band with royalty in their ranks as they’re powered by the riff lord that is Scott Fairfax of Memoriam fame. It seems you can combine the heavy and the melodic without selling your soul…

…and last but by no means least the local boys are back in town as Rats Eat Rats take us to Hard Rock Hell. They may only have a pair of singles released in 2020 to their name but it’s all about quality rather than quantity and they’ve been refining their new tunes on stages ready for the studio… All of that means there are just six bands left to be announced!

We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Metalplanetmusic, Moshville Times, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification, DC Sound Attack and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and next year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!

Rabidfest will take place at The Bullingdon in Oxford over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd November 2024:
