Rabidfest 2023: Breaking Down The Bands #21: Fetus Destruction!

Is it better to burn out or fade away? After a triumphant set at the 10th Anniversary of Tech-Fest in the summer, inking a deal in blood with Seek & Strike Records and releasing a debut full length album in “Ominous“, Midlands Technical Death Metal Monsters Monasteries decided to go their separate ways and leave Rabidfest with a shotgun discharge sized hole in the finest Metal Weekender that Oxford has to offer. Fear not however as having made their live debut at the 2021 incarnation of the festival, High Wycombe brutes Shoot To Kill will be filling the void. The fifth anniversary of Rabidfest will take place over 4th and 5th November at The Bullingdon, all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation! Who the f*** are Fetus Destruction and why should you pay a pretty penny to see them grace the Devolution Magazine sponsored main stage at this years Rabidfest? In case the name didn’t give it away, hailing from the Midlands, they’re a crushing Grindcore three piece who threw up a debut seventeen track album “Biologic. Organic. Brutal.” in August to follow rather nasty demo from 2018. Leaning on the Gory side of life with what feels like a mutual love of low budget horror films and Cannibal Corpse, they’ve shared stages with previous Rabidfest favourites and Bloodstock regulars Krysthia, Portuguese Symphonic Deathcore Brutes Downfall Of Mankind and “Trapped in Animated Flesh” creators Callous Hands, proving they can hold their own with other heavy genres. That of course bodes well for a mosh pit of blood, sweat and spilled beers at The Bullingdon as the pig squeals of “Koto Concrete Mixer” pops a few eyeballs… Their path to Mecca, er… Oxford, was paved by a scorching set from fellow Grindcore merchants Public Execution at last years incarnation of the event, not that the two should be compared of course but they do both have tracks with titles that rhyme with punt. So consider yourselves warned…

We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Metalplanetmusic, Moshville Times, GraphicsFix, Unearthed Music and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!

Rabidfest will take place at The Bullingdon in Oxford over the weekend of the 4th and 5th November 2023:
