Summer Bash 2026: An Introduction to Monovoid!

For the past seven years Progressive Death Metal trio Mercury’s Well have been hosting a Hawaiian themed beach party known as Summer Bash at The Facebar in Reading. This year it will take place on 18th July and so you can expect blood (a song by Mercury’s Well), sweat (it can get bloody hot in the venue) and tears (Japanese whisky, pineapple-infused white rum, and Cynar over ice with a pinch of salt) as well riffs flying in all directions. Inflatable palm trees and flower necklaces are a given as are Hawaiian shirts, oh and you might want to do a few stretches before getting in the pit for some two step action, don’t want to go pulling any muscles! This year there will be nine bands plus Mercury’s Well of course so it’s going to be a festival of noise!

Here’s the line up in full:

Vanitas (headliner)
a-tota-so
Mercury’s Well
Masquerader
Monovoid
Maxwelltheband
Bobby Mandala’s Midnight Elite
Halloran
In Maluum
Pain Itself

You’ve seen the line up and you’re wondering who Monovoid are? On the evidence of an unholy trinity of singles in “Immense Collapse“, “Antibirth” and “Conspirator” produced by Wayne Adams (Pet Brick, Dawnwalker, Green Lung) at Bear Bites Horse Studios in London, this summer they’re going to be a name on everyone’s lips as they unleash a debut album titled “Dissolving The Brain“. It is written upon ancient scrolls that a shared history and love of all things heavy brought drummer Guillaume Croizon, bassist/vocalist Brian Thomas and guitarist/vocalist Tom Humphrey together to make music, although what they make might not be the kind of thing their mothers like. Put simply that’s because it’s intense and uncompromising, a concoction of Metal styles best served in a bottle with a flaming rag shoved in the top. There are elements of Thrash, Death, Sludge and Progressive Metal in there and that makes their collection of angry anthems ones you want to witness live. They’ve already shared stages with the likes of Concrete Age, Troll Mother and Vulgaris and somehow people lived to tell the tale so don’t just take our word for it, go forth and check them out, your ear drums will thank you later.

We’re proud confirm that Metal Noise dot Net is returning for a fourth consecutive year as the Media Partner for Summer Bash! Mercury’s Well will be hosting the eighth incarnation of their annual Hawaiian beach party themed event on 18th July 2026 at The Facebar in Reading!
