Rabidfest 2025: Breaking Down The Bands #8: R.P.C!
What do you mean you haven’t got a ticket for Oxfords biggest Metal Weekender yet?! You need a reason? Have you seen the Rabidfest line up? That’s 20 reasons right there alone! Add to that the event is a fundraiser for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, taking place in the warm and dry at The Bullingdon on the 1st and 2nd of November and there are a couple more. Obviously it’s not going to be warm and dry when your mate pours a cold pint of beer over your head for shoving them into a frantic mosh pit when Raging Speedhorn bring out “Every Night’s Alright For Fighting” but that’s another story…
Here’s the line-up (in full!)…

…and if you’re interested in a little extra, here’s the line-up of for The Fight Before Rabidfest on Friday 31st October at The Jericho Tavern:

You read the headline so after a timely reminder to do yourself a favour, make plans with friends and grab a ticket in advance, it’s time to talk about R.P.C. Fusing together Modern Hardcore, Skate Punk and Crossover Thrash like a welder in a shipyard, the band were originally a three piece hailing from Brighton and Cork respectively when they dropped their debut EP “Chop Drop & Roll“ in 2022. Seizing the opportunity the band has a couple of cheeky runs in the Metal 2 The Masses competition for a chance to play the New Blood stage at Bloodstock Open Air Festival, first in Brighton in 2023 and then in Oxford in 2024, having relocated to Bristol.
In between times the trio became a four piece with bassist and vocalist Ciara “Fozzie” Hayes, guitarist and backing vocalist Jim Spillane, guitar, bass and lyricist Emmet Hickey and drummer Darragh “Reylough” Loughrey going on to record sophomore EP “Fuelled by Spite” at Room4Studios in Bristol with Phil Davies. That was released earlier this summer but not before the band had grown to become a five piece with guitarist Billy-Ted Channel and drummer Alfie Alderson entering the fray with Hickey moving to bass.
If you pardon the cliché, the bands second EP benefits from all of the bands live experiences, which have seen them share stages with the likes of ForeignWolf, Die Kur and Shoot To Kill as well as playing shows in England, Ireland, Germany and Holland. Following their blueprint for World Domination, Rabidfest is their next target so expect caustic abrasions aplenty with a side order of viciously bitter bouncy bass lines for good measure. They have to be heard to be believed but if you don’t believe us, go and check out “Molotov” for yourself, you won’t regret it.
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Moshville Times, Moshville Radio, Metalplanetmusic, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
Rabidfest will take place at The Bullingdon in Oxford over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd November 2025:
