The Black Map #13: Perception from Southampton!

Week #13 of our journey across The Black Map of the UK Underground Metal Scene takes us to the sunny South coast city of Southampton. Unsigned Tech-Influenced Progressive Metalcore merchants Perception have been running the channels since 2011. Their 2016 EP “Collapse” has been outdone by their newly released “Monolith”, plunging the band into the same bracket as current genre champions Loathe. Having returned to Avenue Studios, once again got Dan Kerr on board for the mixing and mastering, was a masterstroke as his previous knowledge of the band has given the new material an extra something special. Perception are a band have have earned their shot at success, playing anywhere, everywhere and with anyone. There is little doubt that their set at this years incarnation of UK Tech-Fest at Newark Showgrounds in July will be something special, Perception are very much a going places band.
