Spotlight: Wednesday 13!
Louder.com did a recent interview with Wednesday 13 in which he picked his 10 favourite Wednesday 13 songs and went into his reasons for the picks. The interview comes amid Wednesday 13’s European tour with Combichrist and both bands appearance at this year’s incarnation of Bloodstock Open Air Festival. You can read the interview in full here. While we’re on the subject, here are our 5 favourite albums from the legends career…
#1. “Skeletons” the third album of Wednesday 13’s “solo” career was recorded in 2008 and captures the horror punk energy blended with a glam metal approach and cheesy horror lyrics!
#2. “Women and Children Last” is the second album from Murderdolls side project with Joey Jordison (Sinsaenum etc) and sees the band take on a heavier approach while maintaining their core vibe and playing to their strengths.
#3. “Condolences” is the current offering from the band, stepping up the new sounds of the previous effort that had Rob Zombie influences and fusing them better with the older Wednesday 13 sound.
#4. “Off The Wagon, On The Rocks” sees Wednesday 13 in side project Bourbon Crow, playing Outlaw Country music in the Wednesday 13 style and covering subjects like alcohol, sex and death.
#5. “Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying and the Dead” was Wednesday 13’s debut album using that moniker and followed on neatly from where the Murderdolls debut album finished.
