The Black Map #49: Gassed Up from Preston!

Continuing our journey across The Black Map of the UK Underground Metal Scene, we head to Preston Lancashire. Known as an industrial heart land half way between Glasgow and London, the city is know for being the birth place of England Cricketer Andrew Flintoff, having been home to one of the US founding fathers Benjamin Franklin and the birth place of Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park. But we’re here for Metal and specifically Beatdown Hardcore quinet Gassed Up. Hailing from the North of England means having more venues to play and a heavier scene rooter in Metal and Hardcore. A growing number of weekend half and one dayers is giving a chance for newer bands to play short sets and get noticed, with Gassed Up making their fair share of appearances. September single “Bista Park” takes on the subject of the Chessboard Killer Alexander Pichuskin through his eyes.

Mixed and Mastered by Loathe Guitarist Eric Bickerstaffe, new song “Mother, I Suffer” is out now while a trio of dates with God Complex has also been announced for May. You can pick up the single along with the bands other material over at bandcamp.
