Throwback “Snot” by Snot!
What?! Monday?! Again?! How did this happen?! Alright… After last week’s break in the scheduled program for an impromptu tribute to the late Keith Flint, otherwise known as frontman of The Prodigy, we figured it was time to thrownback and pay tribute to another fallen hero. Santa Barbara California alternative Metal band Snot formed in 1995 and released their debut album “Get Some” in May 1997 to critical acclaim. After a run of Ozzfest dates, during the recording of the bands second album, frontman Lynn Strait and his Boxer Dog Dobbs tragically in December 1998 when his car was hit by a truck.
The tracks from those recording sessions went on to form the basis of a tribute album entitled “Strait Up” with a who’s who of guest vocalists including Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Max Cavalera of Soulfly and Dez Farfara of Devildriver. Then followed a 2007 live album “Alive!” while the former members of the band went on to play in Amen, Soulfly, Limp Bizkit, Sevendust and more. So for today, from “Get Some” let’s have some Snot!
