The Black Map #118: Chapfallen from Stoke-On-Trent!

Who?! What?! Where?! It’s Sunday, which can only mean one thing. Nursing a hangover and headbanging whiplash from the night before while reading about one of the lesser lights of heaven from UK Underground Metal Scene in our weekly Black Map feature. It’s #118 weeks old, the longest running of the series on Metal Noise, but there is plenty of life in this one yet!

Formed from the ashes of This Game of Ghosts in December 2018, Chapfallen are an aggressive Metalcore quintet with plenty of experience. Starting life as a cathartic outlet to combat mental health issues the double headed dragon of vocal pair Max Cottrell and Brad Rogers have axe wielding duo Tom Longshaw and Josh Eardley as well as bassist Dave Morris and drummer Jordan Wright delivering all the momentum they require to get their message across. Throwing a trio of singles to the hounds baying for blood at their door in “Marasmus“, “Future’s Call” and “In Tyrant’s Wake” at the end of 2019, fans didn’t have long to wait for more as they only left it until May 2020 to drop their debut EP “The Art of War“. Lockdown may have robbed the band of shows to support the release and potentially a slot on the New Blood stage at Bloodstock, having made an appearance in the Metal 2 The Masses Heats at The Underground in Stoke but they are booked to play Hammerfest 2021!?!
