How many bands do you know who can take a 20 year career break and survive to tell the tale? Inspired by the likes of Jesus Lizard, Unsane and Helmet into creating abominations in Stoner Metal, Noise Rock and Grunge, three piece Slug were formed in 1990 and had us endure a three year run before going their separate ways. Rediscovering their passion for their music, the trio dusted off their gear in 2013, rebranded Slug13 (which to be fair makes them sound like they’re playing a game of Russian Roulette with 13 bullets rather than being a slimy garden destroyer) and began to play shows which culminated in debut EP “Live at the Cellar Bar“. Having conquered the mountain of putting out a first record and seeking to make up for lost time, the unholy trinity began to create fresh riffs for worship. A debut album followed a year later followed by an EP a year until 2019’s “IPMHEAINVHAA” before the great plague struck and threated to put out the flame. However the story doesn’t end there because rejuvenated after the pause in proceedings, 2022 saw EP “Nosedive” materialise and afforded them the opportunity to share stages with Stone Soup, The Hyena Kill and This Is Wreckage as they continue their symphony of destruction. You can expect the angry three piece to put the world to rights and the young ones to shame at Summer Bash.
