The Black Map #122: Apollo Stands from Norwich!
From London this week we h as to Norwich for this week’s entry in our Black Map of the UK Metal Underground Scene (Trademark, Patient applied for). Signed to One Eyed Toad Records, February saw Apollo Stands drop their EP “Minds” before competing at The Brickmakers against Perseus, Horse Called War, Terrorcaust and Hollow Reign in this year’s incarnation of Metal 2 The Masses for the opportunity to play the New Blood Stage at the 20th Anniversary of Bloodstock, having appeared at the 2019 East Anglia Grand Final. From humble beginnings the Metalcore quintet who like to throw some electronics and occasional piece of Operatic vocal into the mix, delivered the goods with 2017’s debut full length “Join Us” and even shared a stage with our friends in Sertraline. Lockdown may have put their plans for live shows around “Mind” on ice but it hasn’t gone to waste as they took a minute to record an isolation a cover of the Tenacious D classic “Dude (I Totally Miss You)“.
