Throwback: “Eyes Of The South” from Down!

This year marks 25 years of “NOLA” from supergroup Down and a couple of weeks back, the band got together and played a live streamed set to an online audience. Essentially the bands debut album was written over a five year period by Pantera vocalist Philip H Anselmo and Pepper Keenan from Corrosion of Conformity before recording with Kirk Weinstein from Crowbar and Jimmy Blower from EyeHateGod. Needless to say it’s a critically acclaimed masterpiece of Sludge Metal that deserves to be celebrated and if you haven’t already had the pleasure then there is no time like the present to check it out. Here’s Down performing “Eyes of the South” at the House of Blues in New Orleans, pro-shot by Mike Holderbeast.
