Throwback: “Grey Flap” by Pist.On!

Is going all the way back to 1996 and “Number One“, the debut album from Staten Island New York Alternative Metallers Pist.On for “Grey Flap” as controversial as it appeared to be 25 years ago? The album, recorded at Systems Two Recording in Brooklyn New York with Type-O-Negative keyboard player Josh Silver in the production chair was released via Fierce Records to critical acclaim which saw them being snapped up by major label Atlantic Records, only to be accused of selling out for changing their name from Pist.On to Piston. Having been dropped by the label in the three years that followed without recording an album for them, they switched their name back to Pist.On and dropped sophomore record “$ell.Out“. The rest as they say is history and after a few breakups and make ups they’re working on new material with original members Henry Font, Burton Gans and Jeff McManus all in the fold.
