Taking a leaf from the book of Swedish Pop duet Roxette who said “Don’t Bore Us – Get to the Chorus!” we’re dispensing with the long and elaborate introduction and getting straight to the nitty gritty. So here are two cover versions of the Green Day classic “Basket Case” from two lady vocalists of repute that command some attention. In the blood red corner we have Mary Spender who is joined by Scott Bonneau and is more than willing to provide tips on how to become an independent musician. In the ice blue corner we have Robyn Adele Anderson and her band who take the Punk out and turn it into a 1950’s style piece with a lyrical twist. Who Wins? You decide!
