Throwback: “Sellout” by Biohazard!
One of the most frustrating things about streaming services is that while fans want to pay one price and have everything in one place, there are annoying gaps in discographies and filmographies right, left and centre. Netflix rotation policy, admittedly due to licensing, means you may find part one and part three of a trilogy but not part two. Spotify also has the same frustrations about it with albums you want to hear missing. In the case of Brooklyn New Yorkers Biohazard, 2001’s “Uncivilisation“, 2003’s “Kill Or Be Killed” and 2005’s “Means To An End” are all absent without leave so thank f*** for physical editions…
Their sixth studio album in all, “Uncivilisation” was released by Sanctuary Records having been recorded at Mission Sound Studios in Brooklyn New York. It finds the band joined by an all star cast of musicians they’d toured with to this point from Agonistic Front, Sepultura, Cypress Hill, Pantera, Slipknot, Hatebreed and Type-O Negative over sixteen cuts including covers of tracks by Cro-Mags and Carnivore. A curious mixed bag of a record that sounds like a compilation of contributions and experiments that work individually without necessarily having the flow of an album, there are still plenty of gems on it. If that wasn’t enough to tempt you, we’ve chosen opening cut “Sellout“, one of a handful not to feature a guest for todays throwback…
