Throwback: “Replica” from Fear Factory!

It may not have landed on the round number quite yet but as we reach the 29th Anniversary of the seminal Industrial Metal album “Demanufacture” from Fear Factory, we’ve got to ask if there is a more worthy record of a 30th Anniversary World Tour than the Roadrunner Records classic? Released on 13th June 1995 and inspired by the original science fiction horror that is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s The Terminator, it’s a concept album about a man’s struggles against a machine-controlled government with each song representing a chapter in his life. As well as featuring on lists by every publication under the sun, it’s influence runs deep with Epica, Byzantine and Common Dead to name but a few covering tracks. Add to that the soundtracks to video games Test Drive 5 and Carmageddon as well as movie Mortal Kombat have seen the band grace them.
