Throwback: “Blood And Thunder” from Mastodon!

We’re going to go a bit early with this one, but who cares? 31st August 2024 will be be the 20th Anniversary of “Leviathan” from American Progressive Metal giants Mastodon, a concept album which took the band from zero to hero in less than 60 seconds. Loosely based on the 1851 novel “Moby-Dick” by Herman Melville and featuring guest appearances from both Scott Kelly of Neurosis and Neil Fallon of Clutch, the critical acclaim it received allowed the band to conquer both Europe and the US on The Unholy Alliance tour with Slayer, Lamb Of God and Slipknot. Everyone from Kerrang! to Terrorizer held it in high regard and our track of choice is of course “Blood and Thunder“!
