Throwback: “Simple Survival” by Mushroomhead!

15th August 2006 saw the arrival of a music video for “Simple Survival” in preview of what Cleveland Ohio’s Mushroomhead had to offer with fifth studio album “Saviour Sorrow“. In the eyes of the masses the pressure was on with the record being the first not to feature guitarist Marko “Bronson” Vukcevich or vocalist Jason “J Mann” Popson and the arrival of Waylon Reavis for what would be the first of three albums before departing to create A Killer’s Confession. Unlike previous records, the album turned out to be colder, harder and more industrially tinged, the horror aesthetic seeing the lead single appear on the soundtrack to Víctor Garcia’s “Return to House on Haunted Hill” a year after it’s initial release. Elsewhere, a guest appearance from Sean Kane of Gizmachi on “Tattoo” is a highlight and the albums success opened the door for the band to join the Jägermeister Music Tour…
