Summer Bash 2025: An Introduction to Remnant!

Guess what? Yes! It’s that time of the week again! As Mercury’s Well prepare to host the seventh incarnation of their annual Hawaiian themed beach party Summer Bash, we talk through the line up for this year’s event. The one day festival will see no less than eleven bands take to the stage at The Facebar in Reading on 26th July 2025, it’s quite literally the hottest ticket in town. As the headline suggests, the second of the eleven bands we’re going to talk about is Remnant but before we do… let’s just say that tickets will be available on the door but you can save a few quid by getting them in advance here.

So to the question on everyone’s lips… who the f*** are Remnant and why are they worth the admittance fee alone? Summer Bash will be the second opportunity to witness a reformed, rejuvenated and refreshed band with a potential new line up and new songs after a period of relative silence going back to 2021. Hailing from Maidenhead in Buckinghamshire, Remnant are a five piece Heavy Metal band who have been around since 2012. Rising to prominence with a sound that contrasts male and female vocals with dark melodies, technical riffs and galloping rhythm sections, they unveiled their debut EP “Eclipse” in 2014. That opened the floodgates for countless shows, the band sharing stages with the likes of Gutlocker, The Agonist and The Freudian Session to name but a few before enjoying a run in Metal 2 The Masses for the opportunity to play Bloodstock Open Air Festival in 2016. Line up changes caused a pause for breath but 2019 saw EP “Malevolent Promise” land like a sucker punch. Continuing to play shows, the riff slingers shared footage of a rehearsal, a new vocalist and new songs in 2021 before all went quiet. December 2024 confirmed the unofficial hiatus was over so be warned, we expect Remnant to be back with a bang!
