Rabidfest 2025: Breaking Down The Bands #1: Seething Akira!
The full line-up and the day splits might not be announced just yet but believe it or not it’s just twenty (20) weeks until Oxfords finest Metal weekender returns. That means it’s time for us to start our weekly introduction to the bands that are playing Rabidfest at The Bullingdon over the weekend of 1st and 2nd November… because when you’re done getting pissed and burned in a field while watching your favourite bands, it’s time to get drunk inside where it’s dry while watching your favourite bands! Like Robb Flynn Machine Head said, it’s all about the blood, the sweat, the beers!
Here’s the line-up (so far)…

In time honoured fashion we hear you ask… who the hell are Seething Akira and why should we pay our hard earned cash to witness them at Rabidfest? A high energy neutron bomb of a band who hail from Portsmouth, the six piece Electronic Nu-core outfit have already destroyed stages far and wide including that of Bloodstock Open Air Festival and Tech-Fest. Influenced by the likes of Pitchshifter, The Prodigy and countless others, the twelve legged machine know how to party with EDM, 90s break beats and Metal guitars colliding like atoms. Add to that their refreshingly honest grime infused vocals and it has to be said their ridiculous energy levels set them apart from the rest. Last years album “Cancel Estate” picked up where 2022’s predecessor “Nozomi” left off, lacing the music with a social commentary that threatens to boil over at times. Themes of anger, despair and defiance in all of their songs because its a dysfunctional wonderland in which we all live.
Having witnessed them live before on several occasions we already know that the mosh pit will go crazy for cuts like “Something In The Water”, “Ixnay” and “Metahphors”, so expect cups of water to get thrown in the air as things get rowdy. The twin headed dragon that is vocalist pairing Charlie Bowes and Kit Conrad have got prior convictions when it comes to leaving the stage so in time honoured fashion, expect one or both to jump the barrier and get in your face. Having won over the Oxford masses at last years inaugural The Fright Before Rabidfest, it’s only natural that the bands should be asked back to the main event this year. What was that about blood, sweat and beers?
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Moshville Times, Moshville Radio, Metalplanetmusic, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
Rabidfest will take place at The Bullingdon in Oxford over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd November 2025:
