Rabidfest 2025: Breaking Down The Bands #4: Korrupto!
While you’re eating your third ice cream of the day and wondering what you’re going to be doing after the summer festival season is over, lets talk about Rabidfest. Taking place over the weekend of 1st and 2nd November at The Bullingdon in Oxford (with the bonus of The Fight Before Rabidfest on Friday 31st October at The Jericho Tavern!), it’s a mighty fine time that will see no less than twenty bands playing the Devolution Magazine sponsored stage. So rather than mourn the absence of Bloodstock, Download, 2000 Trees or ArcTanGent for another twelve months, why not find a friend, get a couple of tickets and join the headbanging hordes? You know it makes sense!

It’s time to answer the ultimate question and we’re not talking about the meaning of life, the Universe and everything because as we know, that’s 42, as calculated by the supercomputer Deep Thought in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. No. The ultimate question we’re referring to is… who the f*** are Korrupto and why should we head to The Bullingdon in the heart of Oxford to witness them at this years incarnation Rabidfest?
The answer to that one is simple. You can’t be a self respecting Metal Head and not love a bit of anti-establishment noise and that is something that Korrupto are masters of. Hailing from Oxfordshire and Wiltshire the three piece feature in their ranks members of Faith and Hate, Black Skies Burn, Public Execution, Of Corpse and Seidrblot to name but a few, their reputations precede them. While the band formed in 2020, they didn’t issue their first shot in anger until 2023 with EP “Chop The Cop” letting freedom ring with a shotgun blast. If their prior convictions didn’t give the game away, the band formulate a nail bomb of a sonic cocktail that we’ll call an unruly blend of Death Metal and Grindcore. Vocals from both guitarist Carlos “Visy Bloodaxe” Murillo and bassist Simon “Worm” Manion are more than enough to incite a riot with Steve Butler setting the pace behind the kit. December saw them unveil a sophomore record in “Unsolicited Indoctrination“, described as being “born out of band life and world events” and featuring a cover of the Nausea classic “Absence of War“. Recorded and mixed by Steve “Geezer” Watkins (Desert Storm, Indica Blues, Pain Control) at Wormwood Studios, Oxfordshire and adorned by artwork from Michael Pentalengro, that is going to make the up the backbone of the set, so be prepared for total annihilation!
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Moshville Times, Moshville Radio, Metalplanetmusic, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
