Do Saturday night headliners and Corby’s finest export Raging Speedhorn really need an introduction in 2025? We hope not! But let us pose a question. Having released a scorcher of an album in “Nightwolf“, their first in partnership with Spinefarm Records, earlier this year and taken it across the country, will we get a treated to a set around that album – or – with the band set to play a 25th Anniversary tour for their self titled debut record a few weeks after the Rabidfest, will we get the nostalgia trip of those songs once more? No one has hinted either way but it could be “Knives and Faces“, “High Whore” and “Superscud” or “Every Night’s Alright For Fighting“, “Buzz Killa” and “Comin’ In Hard”. As fans of everything they’ve done, we’ll be happy either way – but what do you, the Rabidfest faithful, want to hear?
As everyone knows the well oiled twelve legged live machine who specialize in Hardcore fueled Sludge Metal with themes loosely orientated around life problems, violence and vice have been around the block and then some over the past twenty five years. Countless line up changes have left vocalist Frank Regan and drummer Gordon Morrison the last men standing from the band that first took to the stage in 1998, guitarist Daf Williams being the newest addition having joined in 2022. Seven studio albums, a compilation of demos and a live album have all made an impact on our ear drums while our eyes have grown wide at the size of their bar tabs. People can say what they like about them but the fact remains they work hard and play harder with that grit and determination running through their veins. Whatever they do decide to play, the fun lovin’ criminals are coming to destroy The Bullingdon so be prepared for mosh pit violence!
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Moshville Times, Moshville Radio, Metalplanetmusic, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
