NEWS: The Conflux Collective are born again!
After years of dormancy, Extreme Metal force The Conflux Collective have been resurrected with a new line up set to deliver a new album. Originally born from a chance reunion between guitarist Chase Fraser (Continuum, Decrepit Birth, Animosity) and drummer Tommy McKinnon (Derelict, Akurion, Neuraxis, Augury) who gave us debut EP “The Inception“, however life took over and the project went on hiatus. On June 19th their long awaited debut album “In the Wake of Saturn“.
Armed with unreleased material from Fraser and a determination to finish what they started, Tommy McKinnon rebuilt the album from the ground up, writing new songs, reconstructing arrangements, recording all bass tracks by ear, and crafting lyrics drawn from deeply personal turmoil, transformation and catharsis. Joining him are a collection of vocalists in Eric Burnet (Derelict), Max Lussier (Derelict), Jesse Brint (Gross Misconduct), Mallika Sundaramurthy (Emasculator) and Jeff Mott (Hollow, Monster Factory). The first single is “Reincarnation” and their are seven more where that came from. Pre-orders are available over at bandcamp.
Tommy McKinnon: “In the Wake of Saturn is a journey through pain, fear, defeat, survival, and finally rebirth. It’s a transformative experience that was created out of the necessity for change… a true underground monster made for those who seek the unusual. The Conflux Collective lives again, and this song tells the story of rebirth and resilience… It gives an impression of how the album sounds as a whole, with all the elements explored in depth in the other songs”
