Summer Bash 2026: An Introduction to Masquerader!

What can we say about the almighty Math Punk three piece noise boys that are Masquerader that we haven’t already said? Hmm… While we think on that, let’s say this. On Saturday 18th July Mercury’s Well will be hosting their eighth annual Summer Bash one day festival at The Facebar in Reading! A Hawaiian themed beach party with everything from cocktails to flower necklaces, Hawaiian shirts and inflatable palm trees, it’s going to be a day to remember! There will be no less than ten bands gracing the stage, encouraging you to mosh, band your head or do a little dance while you find new ways to spill your drink. What could be better? What else would you be doing? Call a friend, bring them down and have a ball!

Here’s the line up in full:

Vanitas (headliner)
a-tota-so
Mercury’s Well
Masquerader
Monovoid
Maxwelltheband
Bobby Mandala’s Midnight Elite
Halloran
In Maluum
Pain Itself

Back in 2021 Masquerader rose to prominence with a song called “Pressure” and having decided early on to drop the guitars, instead they blend six string bass, drums and electronics with in your face vocals. Politically charged and socially aware nature, they describe their formulation as Math-Punk Noise… but in truth that’s far, far, far too simple. Sample loops collide like atoms in the reactor at Cern as they embellish a base sound of tight, inventive and complex rhythms blended with dissonant synths and Post-Hardcore aggression. Their songs take on influence and inspiration from genres as far apart experimental Hip-Hop and Progressive Metal, making them chaotic, eclectic and eccentric as well as good fun, their quirky, nature drawing you in. Playing shows around the London commuter belt with everyone from Hidden Mothers to Death Goals they’ve earned their live reputation by putting in the hard yards with an infectious live energy, never being afraid to get up close and personal with the audience as they bombard them with chemical beats! Before you get to Summer Bash, you might want to check out their EPs in 2023’s “Nothing Will Change” and last years “Closer To Death” because they actively encourage crowd participation in the form of blood, sweat and tears!

We’re proud confirm that Metal Noise dot Net is returning for a fourth consecutive year as the Media Partner for Summer Bash! Mercury’s Well will be hosting the eighth incarnation of their annual Hawaiian beach party themed event on 18th July 2026 at The Facebar in Reading!
