Review: “Won’t Be Disgraced” by God’s Hate

They say it pays to expect the unexpected but sometimes there is a sucker punch that you simply didn’t see coming. Having been on hiatus since July 2025 due to vocalist Brody King’s day job as a wrestler in AEW, seemingly from out of nowhere Metallic Hardcore crew God’s Hate appeared at Sound And Fury Festival in Los Angeles California on 16th August where they played a surprise 14 minute set following  Twitching Tongues with whom they share drummer Colin Young. As if that wasn’t enough to get excited about, a new three song EP titled “Won’t Be Disgraced” featuring a cover of “Warriors Will Reign” by Harm’s Way has now appeared via Closed Casket Activities. Surprise! Jazz hands!

Returning as if they hadn’t missed a beat God’s Hate reintroduce themselves with the potent title track “Won’t Be Disgraced”, an intense Metallic Hardcore tune about maintaining a strong state of mind to conquer with a clenched fist. The weighty Hardcore grooves and barked vocals are those of a band in their element with that grit and integrity earned by years on the grind at the very core of what they’re doing. Naysayers will probably say it’s too Metal for Hardcore and too Hardcore for Metal but none of that matters when something is as fierce as this burnt offering.

Maintaining the groove laden flow with crossover Thrash vibes and whammy bar action “I Am The Cure” is a violent delight of barbed riffs and thunderous percussion that bleeds traditional Hardcore values. Staccato riff breaks orientate around lines like “You are the disease, I am the cure!” with “Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire” era Hatebreed stylings, the savage downtempo finale perfectly executed.

In tribute to the Harm’s Way guitarist and ’HardLore‘ host Bo Lueder, God’s Hate are joined by Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis), Ray Cappo  (Youth Of Today, Shelter), Mark Porter (Floorpunch) and James Pligge (Harm’s Way) for a cover of “Warriors Will Reign“. Making it their own, they capture the energy of the original using their guitar tones and drum sound, the guest vocalists adding another dimension in the best possible way. The leads during the extended instrumental parts are majestic and the spoken word is poignant, the whole atmosphere making it one of the most fitting tributes you’re going to find. God’s Hate are back and they mean business! [8/10]
