I need coffee. I need a nap. I need a vacation. I need duct tape, rope and a shovel. Rumour has that those are the four moods of Leicester Progressive Technical Deathcore quintet Voidwalker, a band who freely admit that if you don’t follow them they’ll come to your house and steal your lightbulbs. Having given us their debut EP “Democratic Fever Dream” back in 2020 they have turned stages to sawdust all over the United Kingdom with everyone from Vexed, Monasteries and Kryptess being forced to deliver their finest performances in order to keep up. Four years on they dropped their sophomore EP “The Slow Decay” back in March, it’s cover art depicting a post apocalyptic vision of a barren wasteland in which humanity burns to death in scorching sunshine. You don’t get much more Metal that that, do you? Fans favourite “Tar Stained Lips”, originally released in 2022 as a standalone single was re-recorded for that one, a sharpened new rendition that the edge of the seat was made for. All of that helped pave the way for them to play this years sixth incarnation of Rabidfest, Oxfords finest Metal Weekender and follow in the footsteps of a long line of underground Extreme Metal acts including Tyrants and Public Execution to grace the Devolution Magazine sponsored main stage. They’re coming to shake the foundations, the question is are you ready?!
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Metalplanetmusic, Moshville Times, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification, DC Sound Attack and main stage sponsor. Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and next this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
