The Black Map #28: Jonestown from Brighton!
Returning to the south coast for this weeks entry in our Black Map of the UK Underground Metal Scene, we head to sunny Brighton. The home of Architects, mentioned in the Doomsday book as “Brighthelmstone” and a stones throw from Gatwick Airport, Brighton has been ranked as the happiest place to live in the UK. But we’re not here for that. We’re here for 2014’s Metal to the Masses (South East) winners and a band that Metal Hammer said had released “The best Metal debut of 2016, by far!” in their release “Aokigahara”. That’s right, we’re in Brighton for Jonestown. Having signed to SPV imprint label Long Branch Records for their new album “Dyatlov” which will see release on 16th November, the future looks bright for the quartet! 1st June saw the release of first single and music video “The People’s Temple” while a stream of “Blunt Force Nihilist” appeared on 14th September. If you like what you hear, pre-orders for the album are available here.
