The Black Map 79: Higher State from Birmingham!

Here’s one to look out for in the future. Higher State from Birmingham may have only existed since May 2018, played a handful of shows with the like of Belgian Metallers Thorium and Orpheus, pulled out of a show with Old Wharf and lost a founding member. So it’s been something of a roller coaster ride. They did however manage to get into a room and get a single Mixed and Mastered by Robannas Studio, and get a video by Andy Ivan completed for the recording of “Misery Consumes Me”. Impressive it is too. So once they’ve re-tooled with a replacement second guitarist, we very much look forward to their next output, hopefully in EP form! Of the track, the band commented: “Being the first track we recorded as a band, “Misery Consumes Me” is a reflection of what’s to come. A release of anger and frustration, it’s a taste of what’s to come”. And you can’t say fairer than that.
