Vs Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins? FIGHT! Prong!
Other than a 5 year hiatus between 1997 and 2002, New York City natives Prong have been mainstays of the Metal scene bringing a blend of Industrial Crossover Thrash and Hardcore to the table across 12 albums and 4 extended plays between 1987’s “Primitive Origins” independent debut album and 2019’s “Age Of Defiance” EP. The bands most commercially successful album was 1994’s “Cleansing” which features not only the brilliant “Another Worldly Device” but also one of their most well known songs in “Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck”. So when they land upon our shores in February 2020 with Unearth and Dust Bolt, you can be damn sure that both of those cuts from the same cloth will be in the set.
In the red corner we have the returning Dry Kill Logic. They recorded their version for the “Rot” EP, which was only available from Roadrunner Records Metal Radio mail list. It may have taken 13 years but complete with an animated video from Carl Whitbread, they brought out new single “Vices” at the beginning of September. In the blue corner we have Seattle Washington Grove Metal quintet Demon Hunter who recorded their version of the track for 2005’s “The Triptych” an album which received an outpouring of affection from the Armed Forces for “The Soldiers Song”, a track devoted to their heroics. Who wins? You decide!
