The 12 Days of Christmas #11: Super Mario!
The festivity of the twelve days of Christmas runs from 25th December to 5th January, based on an English Christmas Carol that sees a lover give gifts cumulatively over the Christmas season starting with Christmas Day. Originally published in 1780, it’s probably French in origin, Skull Island has been conquered many times in it’s rich heritage. So for the twelve days, we’re doing twelve Metal tracks that have something to do with the item. The mountain top is just over the next ridge!
“On the Eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me Eleven pipers piping, Ten lords a-leaping, Nine ladies dancing, Eight maids a-milking, Seven Swans a-swimming, Six geese-laying, Five gold rings, Four calling birds, Three French hens, Two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree”
You’re looking at an 11 (Eleven) string bass guitar played by Jean Baudin. The World of Metal has gone mad for large numbers of strings in the last few years and the rise of Nintendicore bands like Jumpman and Navian paying homage to their Nintendo heroes like Mario and Zelda is growing. Hell even Currents have a Mario inspired solo on a track.
