Vs. Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins?! FIGHT! Amon Amarth!

An album which appeared on Metal Hammer Magazine’s Top 50 Albums of 2008, “Twilight of the Thunder God” marked the seventh studio record from Swedish Melodic Death Metallers Amon Amarth. A concept release based on Thor’s slaying of the serpent Jörmungandr it was recorded at Fascination Street Studio in Örebro, Sweden with Producer Jens Bogren (Sepultura, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir) and sees guests from Entombed, Apocalyptica, Children Of Bodom and Sinergy also playing their part.

In the Red Corner we have Swedish Power Metallers Sabaton who covered “Twilight Of The Thunder God” back in 2012 in the sessions for their album concept album “Carolus Rex“, which follows the rise and fall of the Swedish Empire, whose monarch Charles XII gives it it’s title. In the Blue Corner we have Neo-Medieval act Corvus Corax who covered the classic a year later for their 2013 release “Gimlie” and in this video performed the song at Wacken Open Air. Who Wins? You Decide!
