Listmania: Metal Noise Top #5 Singles of 2021!

Good morning Vietnam! It’s that time of year again! Our annual awards season made up of five sets of five awards between Christmas and New Year starts here. This year there is once again no “best live band” category for obvious reasons so instead we have a “best singles” category, dedicated to those bands who have only released singles to this point in their fledging careers… and some bands that gave us a stop gap. The rules are simple. No crossovers, no dual awards, just 25 bands we recommend that you check out because they have rocked our World in 2021…

First up we have Nu-Metalcore newcomers Spoiler who found themselves on our ones to watch for 2021 last year and following a line up change crushed it with a Loki Films directed video for “The Nihilist“…

Secondly it can only be Tyrants who dropped a trio of singles in 2021 and with “Apostle” have clocked up an incredible 86,445 Spotify streams since it’s April release. It’s Deathcore Jim but not as we know it…

Thirdly we’ve got the third single from Collected, one called “Love and Fury” from June. Pairing an absorbing and engaging lyric with mid-tempo DJent riffs cutting through ambient moments in a sprawling slab of Metal that is as dense as it is dark, it’s exactly what you need…

The fourth on our list designed for those who like us have a have a short attention span and an itchy trigger finger is “Brand New Low” from Kissing Candice featuring Jamie Madrox of Twiztid. It caught us by surprise as the third single from an album yet to see the light of day…

Last but not least we have Deathless who recorded “Forbidden Land” remotely between Virginia, Tennessee and West Virginia last winter for a Death Metal masterclass that proves that all you need is a decent internet connection and some file trading software to get things rolling when a studio simply isn’t an option…
