Vs. Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins?! FIGHT! Only.

The final Vs Tuesday of 2021 sees us head all the way back to 1993 and “Sound of White Noise” by Anthrax, a record which saw them get serious while incorporating more Grunge influence into their sound with the help of producer Dave Jerden (Alice In Chains, Jane’s Addiction, Armored Saint). The first album of the John Bush era and the last with lead guitarist Dan Spitz, the result is something more Alternative Metal than Thrash while still maintaining that level of aggression…

…So to our head to head and it can only be a song which has received particular attention as  Metallica frontman James Hetfield is said to have referred to “Only” as a “perfect song“. In the Red Corner we have Oceanhoarse who celebrated 40 years of the New Yorker’s reign of terror with a groove laden version of the classic. In the Blue Corner we have War Curse who did their rendition for Metal Injection’s Slay At Home series and got the seal of approval from  Charlie Benante himself. Who Wins? You decide!
