Throwback: “Drop The Match” from Winds Of Plague!

The sands of time have a tendency to slip through the fingers when you’re not paying attention and it seems impossible that the critically acclaimed “Against The World” from Californian American Symphonic Deathcore collective Winds Of Plague has reached its 10th Anniversary. But the Century Media release with guest vocal appearances from Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, Mattie Montgomery of For Today, Drew York of Stray from the Path, Martin Stewart of Terror and John Mishima of As Blood Runs Black elevated the band whose stock was already on the rise as singles “Drop the Match“, “California” and “Refined in the Fire” saw them play the entire Vans Warped Tour in 2011. Produced by Matt Hyde (Machine Head, As I Lay Dying, Trivium), the record sees the band at their most direct, barbed and downright aggressive as well as leaning heavily on the Symphonic dynamics of long time keyboard player Alana Potocnik as well as having all the breakdowns you can handle. So if you’re in need of blasting away some Monday morning cobwebs then this is the record for that!
