With 2023 fast approaching, does the World really need a reminder of what Slayer were capable of? Probably not. Are we going to do it anyway? Hell Yes. We all know that it’s only a matter of time before Kerry King’s post Slayer band starts playing these songs in the live arena once more but in the meantime, lets celebrate the legacy with a little pre-Christmas Thrash Metal. It simply has to be “Angel Of Death“.

So to our head to head. In the Blood Red corner we have Indian Death Metal act Godless who recorded their version during the sessions for their Thrash-laced Death Metal album  “States Of Chaos” in late 2021 and released it on what would have been Jeff Hanneman’s 58th Birthday. May he rest in peace. In the Icy cold Blue Corner we have Extinction who recorded their rendition of the classic for the compilation “Reigning in the Abyss. A Tribute to Slayer” released by BlackSteel Music in 2016. Who wins? You decide!
