Who are Forlorn and why are they worth the admittance fee? For those not indoctrinated into their Folk Horror Metal ways, they’re a band who are as much expressionist artists as they are musicians. Post-Metal and paganism are all part of the sonic tapestry they create as they lull the discerning listener into a hypnotic trance with their ethereal vocals and haunting soundscapes like a siren. As we all know, sirens smash the bodies of sailors on the jagged rocks and eat their flesh, which is exactly what the five piece do in metaphor with the brutal screams of vocalist Megan Jenkins, punishing down tuned guitars and percussion doing the damage. Blurring the lines between sub-genres, somehow the band have injected ambient soundscapes into what is essentially a Symphonic Black Metal skeleton in the studio. In the live arena that it translated with a sense of theatrical drama to give it another captivating dimension and making them a band not to be missed. After all, the incredible “The Weight of It All” has the better part of 181k of Spotify streams alone and statistics they don’t lie.

We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Metalplanetmusic, Moshville Times, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification, Metal Nation Records and main stage sponsor. Devolution Magazine.
