Summer Bash 2025: An Introduction to Turning Point!

Roll-up! Roll-up! Read all about it! Mercury’s Well have just 104 days to prepare to host the seventh incarnation of their annual Hawaiian themed beach party Summer Bash because the one day celebration of all things riff orientated will take place at The Facebar in Reading on 26th July 2025! Lined up for you they have no less than eleven bands to not only make sure its a day to remember but also make it the hottest ticket in town! There will be mosh pits, sweat and beers alongside the usual collection of Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts and inflatables! As the headline suggests we’re talking our way through the bands playing the event with Turning Point being the latest to receive the treatment but before we do… let’s just say your tickets are available in advance here.

Forging a sound somewhere between the nail of Hardcore and the hammer of Deathcore, Reading four piece Turning Point formed as recently as 2024, issuing a debut twin track EP “Dark Crown” as a warning shot of the shape of punk to come. Naturally… because why not?! they soon began to earn their stripes in the live arena, turning stages to saw dust with the likes of Dispute, Semprus and This Dying Hour while building a reputation for inciting mosh pits with the raw energy of their performances. Having witnessed their what they are capable of first hand at the Sunday Hardcore Matinee at The Butler in Reading, rest assured there is plenty more ammunition where that debut EP came from. Testing and tweak tracks in the live arena before committing them to tape is a time honoured tradition amongst the lesser lights of heaven and on the evidence of that set alone, the balance of mosh parts and ferocity is one they maintain within their sound. 2025 already looks like being a phenomenal year for Alfie McGregor, Martin Little, Dylan Bennett and Tom West and with new single “Isolation” now streaming for your listening pleasure, you’ve got plenty of time to learn the lyrics to scream along at Summer Bash!
