Summer Bash 2025: An Introduction to Masquerader!
When A Day To Remember said “All Signs Point to Lauderdale” while they might have been factual correct at the time of writing, they sure as hell ain’t now. That’s because all signs point to The Facebar in Reading for a day long Hawaiian themed beach party known as Summer Bash hosted by local heroes Mercury’s Well. That will take place on 26th July with no less than eleven bands set to attempt to reduce the venue to rubble with their bass, drums, guitars and microphones a threat. There have been six previous attempts but this year the line up is bigger than a stack of American pancakes, soaked in maple syrup. Oh and while not obligatory, Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts, inflatables, flowers, cocktails and sunglasses all help the fun!
Here’s the line up in full:
Hidden Mothers
Masquerader
Black Skull Ritual
Buds.
Tape It Shut
Turning Point
Skin Reaper
Mercury’s Well
Gutlocker
Remnant
Killswitch Enchambers (Killswitch Engage Tribute featuring former members of Kill Chambers)
You’ve read the headline, soaked in the introduction and now you want to know just who Masquerader are and why they’re worth the admittance fee for Summer Bash? Well you’ve come to the right place! While King 810 rage about Rustbelt Nu-Metal, high energy electronic Post-Hardcore trio have earned their stripes on the London commuter belt with the likes of Bob Vylan and Polymath. Taking a different route to remain, drummer Tim Williamson, vocalist and electronics guru Danny Molyneux and bassist Chris Fry decided to drop the guitars from their sound in their early days and instead use synths and samples to flood the sonic void around an organic high energy rhythm section and accompanying feral vocal performances. That makes them a truly unique offering in an era that doesn’t have so much of that, their influences in 90’s Post-Hardcore, Math Rock and Alt. Hip-Hop bleeding through the bandages of tracks like “Pressure“, “Paper Thin” and “Mellify“. Having demonstrated their proweses at last year’s incarnation of Summer Bash, they return with EP “Closer To Death” so expect Molyneux to jump into the crowd and roar his lyrics in your face!
We’re proud confirm that Metal Noise dot Net is returning for a third consecutive year as the Media Partner for Summer Bash! Mercury’s Well will be hosting the seventh incarnation of their annual Hawaiian beach party themed event on 26th July 2025 at The Facebar in Reading.
