Rabidfest 2025: Breaking Down The Bands #6: Redeemon!
When it comes down to brass tacks and bloody knuckles is there anything better than the combination of wall to wall riffs, thunderous percussion and rumbling bass accompanied by some harsh vocals? Ever wondered what it would sound like if The Reel Big Fish played a Pantera cover? Either way, if you’re heading to Rabidfest in November you’re going to find out. That’s because Redeemon have been summoned to perform and with influences as far apart as 90’s Groove Metal, Ska and Jazz that is very much what they sound like. If you don’t believe us, go and check out their biggest hit “Anaphylactic“, a cut surpassing 28k of combined Spotify and YouTube streams as a starting point. The music video filmed at The New Cross Inn before lockdown in 2020 finds current and former members of Beat the Red Light, Smokey Bastard, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Junction of Tiger Street and This Dying Hour barely contained by the stage and confirms that the cliché that is variety is the spice of life is very real. The song was the precursor to the bands 2022 released self titled EP, a record that allowed the eight piece to express themselves freely with a three piece brass section meaning they can write what they feel and feel what they write. Rather than make a futile attempt to put a genre label on that, let’s just say they’ve got beat downs, breakdowns and take downs – anthemic choruses to sing-a-long to, moments for two stepping and opportunities for moshing. As if that wasn’t as much fun as you can have without risking injury, the band have one more song in their arsenal. On a covers compilation titled “Master Of Trumpets” issued in October last year they offer up their rendition of the 1988 Metallica classic “Blackened” from the almighty “…and Justice For All“. Go on. You know you want to.
We’re proud to be a Media Partner of Rabidfest again this year alongside Red Death Media, Moomin Merchandise, Moshville Times, Moshville Radio, Metalplanetmusic, GraphicsFix, TwoFace Promotions, Blackstar Amplification and main stage sponsor Devolution Magazine. The Festival is all for charity and this year the profits will be going to the The Sophie Lancaster Foundation!
