Where Are They Now? #5 : Glass Cloud

Everything went quiet on the Glass Cloud front at the end of 2014’s “Our Endless War” Tour with Whitechapel and Upon A Burning Body. Equal Vision Records had backed former Sky Eats Airplane frontman Jerry Roush after stints in American Me and Of Mice & Men to start a new band. So in 2011, Roush got in former The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza Guitarist Josha Travis, the king of the eight string, and the pair created Glass Cloud. They released a stunning debut album “The Royal Thousand” in 2012 that saw critical acclaim.

Just when things were going well, a van accident in the snow in Oregon put a huge dent in the bands finances. But they managed to get it back together and in 2013 released an EP entitled “Perfect War Forever” before a run of tours with everyone that would take them out as a support act. As 2014 drew to a close the rumours started to circulate that the band had gone on hiatus without official word. Then in February 2015 Joshua Travis posted a video on Instagram suggesting he was recording and editing a new album.

Fast forward a year and after the news that the entire band had exited Emmure leaving frontman Frankie Palmeri on his lonesome, we get the surprise news that Glass Cloud Drummer Joshua Miller, Bassist Phil Lockett and Guitarist Joshua Travis have all joined Emmure. The move is a master stroke as “Look At Yourself” becomes arguably Emmure’s finest work to date and the members of the new line-up complement each other perfectly.

So where does that leave Glass Cloud now? Well Travis has said in several imterviews that an album is almost complete. It seems that Roush holds the cards as to if it will see the light of day.
