Vs Tuesday: Two Bands! One Song! Who Wins? FIGHT! Feel The Darkness!

It’s time to return to Portland, Oregon’s Poison Idea, who have to be one of the most influential and underrated Hardcore Punk bands in the history of the genre. Inspired by Black Flag and Discharge and called “an ugly band for ugly people“, their 1990 third studio album “Feel The Darkness” is one that has been sighted as an influence by Nirvana, EyeHateGod, Pantera and of course Machine Head to name but a few.

In the Red corner we have Pulling Teeth who did their version of “Alan’s on Fire” for their August 2008 “Witches Sabbath III” Firestarter Records released 7″ vinyl. An American Hardcore Punk band themselves and hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, they formed in 2005 for a 7 year run which included tours of North America, Europe and Japan and five studio albums. Calling it a night in 2012, they returned to play an exclusive set at This Is Hardcore Festival in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in July 2017 in celebration of the 10 year anniversary of their sophomore album “Martyr Immortal“. In the Blue corner we have Machine Head who covered the track back in 1994 where it appeared on the digipak edition of “Burn My Eyes” and recorded it with the album at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley California. That album is a Colin Richardson produced masterpiece and the 25th Anniversary shows, rescheduled for 22nd November in Birmingham and 23rd November in London will see it played in full. Who wins? You decide!
